BlueResearch is developing the following products:

W2 camera: upgrade the W1 autonomous camera to increase
the resolution of the images, bring the period of permanence on the bottom of the sea
from the current 4 months to a year, increase
the operational depth from the current 1000 meters up to at least 2500 meters
to meet the growing interest in extremely deep environments.
The long-term goal is to make this instrumentation more autonomous, making it
able to descend into “free fall” at the bottom of the sea and to rise again
by releasing the ballast automatically after a precise period of time

Autonomous surface vehicle: wing sail for wind power, solar panels
for energy needs, able to navigate autonomously
able to transmit its position
and data via satellite connection
chemical and biological oceanographic surveys collected by sensors. The construction kit
will be available at a very low price. The navigation data and the data acquired by the sensors
will be available to everyone on a special web portal.
Not only large research institutions, but also smaller centers or individuals citizens
will become scientists able to monitor our sea.
